When Ventanix builds or hosts your website, the final step to take it live on your own domain is pointing your domain’s DNS records at our server. DNS is what tells the internet where your website lives — once these records are updated, anyone who types your domain sees your new site. Here’s how it works.
What you’ll need
- Access to your domain registrar — wherever you bought your domain (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace/Google Domains, Cloudflare, etc.).
- Our server IP address:
68.66.216.8
1. Log in to your domain registrar
Sign in to the account where your domain is registered and open its DNS settings — often labeled “DNS,” “DNS Management,” “Manage DNS,” or “Advanced DNS.” Not sure where your domain lives? We can help you track it down.
2. Update your A record
Find the existing A record for your root domain (shown as @ or your domain name) and change its value to 68.66.216.8. If there isn’t one yet, add a new A record:
- Type: A
- Host / Name: @
- Value / Points to:
68.66.216.8 - TTL: leave the default (often 1 hour / 3600)
3. Point www to your site
Make sure the www version of your domain points to the site too. Add (or update) a second A record:
- Type: A
- Host / Name: www
- Value / Points to:
68.66.216.8 - TTL: leave the default
If your registrar uses a CNAME for www instead, point it to your root domain and the A record above will handle the rest.
4. Save and wait for propagation
Save your changes. DNS updates aren’t instant — they usually take effect within a few hours, but can take up to 24–48 hours to fully update worldwide. During that window some visitors may still see your old site while others see the new one. This is normal.
5. We confirm and secure your site
Once your domain is pointing to our server, we verify everything is resolving correctly and install your SSL certificate so your site loads securely over https://. You don’t need to do anything for this step.
