Ventanix Hosting Setup and DNS Guide

Welcome to Ventanix Hosting! Follow this step-by-step guide to set up your domain with our hosting services. You will need to update your domain’s nameservers and/or configure your A records to ensure your website is hosted correctly on Ventanix servers.

Option 1: Update Your Nameservers

To point your domain to Ventanix Hosting, you will need to update your domain’s nameservers. Nameservers are used to direct traffic to your hosting provider.

Ventanix Nameservers:

  • Nameserver 1: ns1.supercp.com
  • Nameserver 2: ns2.supercp.com
  • Nameserver 3: ns3.supercp.com
  • Nameserver 4: ns4.supercp.com

Follow these steps to update your nameservers:

  1. Login to Your Domain Registrar’s Account
Visit the website of the company where you registered your domain name (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.).
  2. Navigate to DNS Settings
Once logged in, locate the DNS settings or domain management section.
  3. Find Nameserver Settings
In the DNS settings, look for the section that allows you to change your nameservers.
  4. Replace the Existing Nameservers with Ventanix Nameservers
    Enter the Ventanix nameservers:
    • ns1.supercp.com
    • ns2.supercp.com
    • ns3.supercp.com
    • ns4.supercp.com
  5. Save Your Changes
After you’ve updated the nameservers, make sure to save the changes. It may take up to 24-48 hours for these changes to propagate across the internet.

Option 2: Update Your A Records (If Not Using Nameservers)

If you prefer to only update your A records (instead of changing nameservers), follow these instructions.

Ventanix A Records:

  • Primary IP Address (A Record): 123.456.789.101
  • Secondary IP Address (Optional for redundancy): 123.456.789.102

To point your domain to the Ventanix server using A records:

  1. Login to Your Domain Registrar’s Account
Visit the website of your domain registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.) and log in.
  2. Navigate to DNS Management or DNS Zone Editor
Find the section in your account where you can manage DNS settings. This is often called “DNS Management,” “DNS Zone Editor,” or “Advanced DNS.”
  3. Locate Existing A Records
Look for any existing A records in the DNS settings that correspond to your root domain (e.g., yourdomain.com) and the www subdomain.
  4. Update or Add A Records
    • For the root domain (@): Set the A record to point to the Ventanix IP address: 123.456.789.101.
    • For the www subdomain: Set the A record to the same Ventanix IP address: 123.456.789.101.
Optional: Add a secondary A record for redundancy using the secondary IP address: 123.456.789.102.
  5. Save Your Changes
Once the records are updated, save your changes. Like with nameservers, it may take some time for DNS changes to propagate.

Step 3: Verify the DNS Settings

After updating either your nameservers or A records, it’s important to verify that the changes have been applied correctly. You can use online tools like DNSChecker.org to check the propagation status of your nameserver or A record changes.

Troubleshooting

  • DNS Propagation Delay: It’s normal for DNS changes to take 24-48 hours to fully propagate. If your site is not live after this time, double-check your DNS settings to ensure they’re correct.
  • Incorrect IP Address or Nameservers: If you entered the wrong nameservers or IP addresses, your domain will not point to the correct server. Double-check the Ventanix nameservers or IP addresses above.
